"I'd been looking for a Harry Potter MUSH for a while when I found Alere Flammas. I'd tried roleplaying at a few other places but didn't really feel like a part of the game, no matter how welcoming people were OOCly. AF was the first place I found that had people who were not only OOCly friendly, but who made a real effort to include newbies in the IC goings on. I've been playing here for three years now and individual players have come and gone, but one thing remains the same. The players on Alere Flammas are some of the most open, creative, fun, and enthusiastic people I have ever had the pleasure of roleplaying with."

"Have you ever felt like you were just sick and tired of +sheets and dice combat? I have and I did something about it. Two years or so ago after 8 years of Mushing on WoD and White Wolf sites, I gave free form rp a chance at Alere Flammas. At first I was surprised about how selective and detail orientated the application process was. However, after experiencing the role play at AF, I realized just how worth it it was. I opted to make an original character and have had the opportunity to watch her grow through interactions with other original characters and feature characters. The quality of RP at AF is always high and enjoyable. I have never wanted to retcon any scene I have been in nor have I been frustrated as I have been over the years in other environments. Diceless RP is stress free and allows me to be as creative as I wish to be. The player base and staff is always open to new ideas and is both welcoming and accommodating. There is little to no wait time to get an answer from staff about an idea or suggestion. There are no "timestops" to suffer through or rule books to sift through. I have been able to contribute to story lines and plot ideas without the "red tape" that tangles many mushes up. It has been pleasant to be away from the angst of competition based play and be able to simply enjoy role playing a character. The Harry Potter based world at AF has just the right mix of canon ideas, player generated expansion, committed long term players, and well received "new blood" that I am comfortable with. My ultimate suggestion is for you to log on and see for yourself."

"As long term player, I think the thing that continues to bring me back to this game is the atmosphere that you get from other players. Everyone who RPs at Alere is a kind person. Whenever you need help, you can always find it. Not just for the MUSH, but for other things as well. I once even got help with some Chemistry homework. I always love coming to this place, not just to RP but to be able to chat with the players, as well as the admins.

Another thing that continues to bring me back is how newbie friendly the admins are. I started at this MUSH and am now a great RPer, thanks to the staff. I remember when I first arrived, when the admins set me up with one of the better RPers, who helped me out.

One of the other things that keeps my coming back to play is how great the plot keeps coming. I think it's great how the players get to be involved in how the plot is created and every time a new plot is created, well it just gets better and better.

One last thing that continues to bring me back to Alere is the great RP that the players bring to the MUSH. I guarantee that every player at Alere is a fantastic RPer. You can ask any player who has ever RPed at Alere, it's simply amazing."

"The thing that initially grabbed me as a player on AF, and what keeps me coming back, is the way the game really captures the FEEL of the Harry Potter setting. Whether you're being fitted for a wand by the slightly odd old Mr. Ollivander or getting hissed at by Professor Snape in class, it perfectly gets the mood, setting and underlying humor that drew me to the books in the first place. "Alere Flammas is one of the most ingenuous works of MUSH magic ever created. From its name, to the user-friendly coding systems, and right down to the plot itself, Alere provides a refreshing and ideal MUSH experience where you not only feel intertwined with the plot, but you feel as if the Wizarding World is your home. The realistic requirements and the tireless efforts of our wonderful admins make sure of that.

The system is hugely, if not totally, based on role-play, reducing the number of complicated commands you need to memorize just to get through a session. Also, everyone on Alere is friendly and willing to help. The perfect atmosphere for newbies and veterans alike. The patronus’ and admins are always there, answering all inquiries patiently and graciously.

Along with wonderful players to converse with, the role-play is magnificent! I have yet to find someone who didn’t surprise me with original ideas and unique characters. The plot is moving and constant; if you don’t believe me just look at all that’s happened in the Game History! With players active around the clock, and many sub-plots intertwining with the main plot, there’s never a dull moment on Alere unless you want there to be."
