Feature App
This application is only for feature characters. (A Feature Character is one from the books.) To see which features are currently available to be applied for, log into the game at alereflammas.org 9034 and check +fc/list. If you would like to create an original character, the process is much shorter and can be completed on game. Applications sent for Original Characters will be discarded.

It is expected that you will have read the contents of the newsfiles before filling out this application. They can be found on game by typing 'news'. In particular, you should read 'news features'.

Please copy and paste the application questions below into an email and send them along with your answers to hpwizzen@yahoo.com with the subject HP:AF FC App: <charname>. Do not bother to apply for a character not currently open; all such applications will be discarded.

1: Please provide a valid Email address where we can contact you.

2: What character(s) do you currently play on HP:AF, if any?

3: What feature character are you applying for?

4: In general, what times are you available for roleplay?

5: Are there times during the year when you're unavailable?

6: Please provide a brief summary of your roleplaying experience, particularly on MU*s. You don't need to mention character names.

7: Which of the Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling have you read?

8: Give a description of the character you're applying for, as if you're writing it for their @desc.

9: Please provide a short summary of what you believe to be the defining traits of this character. We're looking for two-three sentences.

10: Write a brief history of the character. This history should highlight those events which are most important to the development of the character. Feel free to invent information where it is lacking and you feel it is important (ex: Flitwick's childhood), but be sure to include events from both the books and from our game history. The purpose of this question is show that you understand the character: what events have touched them and shaped them into what they are today. Can you really get into their head? As such, a flat regurgitation of backstory is not what is needed here. The length will depend on the character, but it should be at least 4 paragraphs.

11: Now tell us a bit more about the character. What interests them? What are they particularly good or bad at? What are their motivations? Anything else you'd like to add about the character?

12: List AT LEAST 3 people important to the character -- family, friend, or foe -- and tell us briefly of their relationship.

13: What flavor of ice cream would the character prefer and why?

14: Why do you want to play this character?

15: Are there any plotlines you'd like to participate in as this character or anything you're particularly eager to RP?

16: Is there anything else you'd like to tell us?

If the feature you're applying for is also a teacher, please be sure to read through all of 'news char teacher' and include your answer to question 7 of the teacher application.
