McGonagall drags Snape to Fortescue's for ice cream. Many students witness this traumatic event. Later, Ron and Hermione plot to help Harry in whatever trouble they will undoubtedly get into.

Hermione is chosen as a Gryffindor Prefect and receives a mysterious anonymous gift. Javaun Tailor tries to get in on her good side. Ron is forced to make a public apology by Snape.

Sorting Ceremony at Hogwarts. Dumbledore orders that no students go out onto the grounds or to Hogsmeade alone.
6 September
Randy joins SPEW. Snape reveals his plans for Slytherin. Javaun starts a project related to Charms.

The first Gryffindor/Slytherin tussle. Anharad Jones spikes the Gryffindor pumpkin juice, punches Seamus, and gets cursed by Harry.

Lupin returns to Hogwarts briefly, gets harassed by Snape.

Hospital wing reported to be running low on necessary remedies. The Great Mis-Sorted Debate begins. Judith Rache meets Theresa Postlethwaite for the first time.

Celeste Collingwood refuses to give Harry Restricted Section access, then encourages Hermione to shadow him around. Snape participates in an attack on Muggles near Manchester.

The seeds of Lupin's cherry phobia are planted.
5 October
Harry, Ron, and Hermione visit Dumbledore and bring up their concerns about Collingwood. He gives them a new perspective on Snape. He also tells Hermione that the Sorting Hat is never wrong. Javaun Tailor questions his place in Slytherin. Dario is injured in Hagrid's class. Sinistra tells Dumbledore that Snape is alive.

Hagrid makes friends with Theresa Postlethwaite.
10 October
Snape returns from his visit to Voldemort. Dumbledore cancels classes for the next day.

Draco starts down the path to the Dark Side (but will it forever consume his destiny?)

Draco shows off his new Firebolt. Quidditch Tryouts are held. Theresa Postlethwaite tells Hagrid about what the Muggles printed in their newspapers about the Manchester incident.
16 October
Darren Smythe and Javaun Tailor play a dirty trick on Salia Masuda.
18 October
Draco asks Ruby Kendall out on a date to Hogsmeade. He also gets detention with Hermione, courtesy of Sinistra.
20 October
More Quidditch tryouts. Dumbledore tells Sinistra about his past, including where he got Fawkes from, and he gives her permission to use his given name.
21 October
Salia Masuda gets revenge on Darren Smythe and Javaun Tailor for their trick.
23 October
Faculty meeting. Snape reveals his part in the Manchester incident. Student pets are restricted to dorms, the owlery, the grounds, and in transit between them. A field trip of some kind is discussed, as is a Yule Ball. Snape further reveals Salia Masuda's actions against Darren Smythe and Javaun Tailor. Late that evening, Caetlan O'Brien is caught drawing in class by Sinistra and decides to destroy her artwork.
24 October
Dumbledore announces the new restrictions on pets at breakfast. He announces that there will be a Yule Ball this year.
28 October
Hogsmeade weekend. Draco and Ruby Kendall try to break into the Shrieking Shack. Nimbus announces a new broom, the 3000, as well as slashing prices on their 2000s and 2001s. Firebolt announces an immediate 40% reduction in their prices, with rumors of a new broom due out soon. Hooch discovers Snape and Sinistra's secret.
30 October
Draco and Hermione kiss, and she slaps him. Tristan Talbot asks Snape over for tea.
31 October
Halloween feast. Professional Quidditch player Xavier Cabrera attends. Bridget Eldridge, Wren Tallonworth, Franny, and Nicodemus Ahlman all have a go at shattering a pinata-pumpkin. In the end, Snape blows it up. Earlier in the evening, before the feast, Ron asks Hermione to the Yule Ball, and Seamus does the same with Caetlan O'Brien after she promises not to destroy her artwork.
1 November
Darren Smythe and Wendy Decenso formally meet for the first time.
2 November
Javaun Tailor and Draco get into a fistfight.
3 November
Darren Smythe reveals to Wendy Decenso that not all of his family are Slytherins. Some are (gasp) Gryffindors. Cho decides to ask Harry to the Ball. Robin Wheeler asks Aubrey Bennet. Snape and Sinistra go to Paris for a romantic weekend, and Snape proposes.
7 November
Darren Smythe saves Anharad Jones from a fall on the Quidditch pitch.
8 November
Snape catches Draco and Ruby Kendall kissing in the Arithmancy classroom. He confiscates Draco's wand and writes to Flitwick to demand that Ruby be removed as prefect.
9 November
Caetlan O'Brien breaks Hagrid's hand in class when he had them pounding in fence posts for the fairy enclosure. Harry asks Cho to the Yule Ball.
10 November
Draco begins to try and divide the Trio by confusing Hermione.
13 November
Seamus and Caetlan O'Brien share their first kiss. Draco and Hermione serve detention with Sinistra.
14 November
Ruby and Hermione commence a contest to see if Draco can be changed for good.
15 November
Draco goes to Snape to file a formal complaint against Sinistra. Snape gives Draco his wand back without comment.
16 November
Snape tells Dumbledore and Sinistra about the complaint Draco has made against Sinistra.

Dumbledore asks Sinistra to leave the love triangle centered on Draco alone.

Ruby Kendall practices Quidditch with a group of Slytherins. Snape joins the practice to show Draco how to really be a Seeker. Ruby and Snape are both injured, Draco publicly reveals his feelings for Ruby. Also, Maximilian Schneider asks Snape for a Restricted Area pass and is denied.

Quidditch: Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin. Slytherin wins, 160 to 30. Draco, Elsie Richardson, Wren Tallonworth, Kelly Malloy, Vesta Montbatten, and Rodney Higglesby are injured. Flitwick goes down to Hogsmeade after the match, runs into his old student, Theresa Postlethwaite, and nearly reveals Lupin's secret to her.

McGonagall gets suspicious of the Draco/Hermione/Ruby Kendall triangle.

Darren Smythe professes love for Wendy Decenso.

Sirius finds out that Theresa knows that Lupin is a werewolf. Judith Rache and Jessica Kandis meet for the first time since school.

The Chudley Cannons are off to a 2-0 start, greatly angering Appleby Arrows fans, who believe You-Know-Who is involved.
22 December
Sinistra asks Hooch to be her maid of honor.
25 December
Christmas Feast at Hogwarts. Trelawney 'predicts' that Snape will be a father, and that Dumbledore and McGonagall will find true love with one another.
28 December
Sirius finds out thatJessica is in town and that Theresa's attempts to befriend Lupin have failed. Hagrid returns from his holiday in France and finds out the news about Snape and Sinistra. Snape plays mindgames with Hermione by pretending to be nice to her and having a civilized conversation with her on one of her pet topics. Draco bites back at Snape for the first time.
31 December
Voldemort and some of his Death Eaters stage an attack on Godric's Hollow. Hogwarts student Artie Flinch is among those killed.

1996

5 January
Hermione goes to Dumbledore to ask about the house elves and begins formulating future plans to help them.
7 January
Lupin informs Dumbledore of his plan to rescue Mabel in hopes of having her help clear Sirius. He then tells Sirius of this plan. Jessica Kandis continues to probe into the Sirius issue, making Hogsmeade locals suspicious. Lupin chooses not to enlighten her.
9 January
Harry and Draco declare a truce in their little private war.
10 January
Snape asks Tristan Talbot to serve as best man. Talbot declines.
11 January
Reginald and Molly Smythe, Darren's parents, are arrested in conjunction with the incident in Godric's Hollow.
12 January
Darren Smythe finds out his parents were arrested and starts writing to his relatives for more information. Dumbledore offers to tutor Hagrid.
13 January
Quidditch: Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw. Gryffindor wins, 160 to 10. Cho is injured. After talking to Cho after the match, Dumbledore summons Ruby Kendall and takes away her prefect badge.
20 January
Ruby Kendall tells Hermione that she loves Draco.
21 January
Sinistra informs Hooch that Snape didn't want her at the wedding and thus, the Maid of Honor offer is withdrawn. Ruby Kendall tells Anna Lockwood her side of the story regarding her recinded prefect status.

Cho tells Anna Lockwood another piece of the puzzle. Draco seems to choose Hermione.
23 January
Lupin cases the Three Broomsticks as a possible haven for Mabel Pettigrew. He is also formally introduced to Judith Rache.

Sinistra gives George detention.

Darren Smythe tells Wendy Decenso that he's seen their wedding in a crystal ball. Ruby Kendall and Cho discuss the latter's role in the former's punishment. Stephen Cook offers to help Anna Lockwood with her project to overturn Dumbledore's decision.

Winston Drury is named prefect to replace Ruby Kendall.

Draco warns Harry that Snape is plotting against him. Judith Rache proposes a sale for the next Hogsmeade weekend, including freebies given to the students.

Cho receives a Nimbus 2001 anonymously at breakfast. Quidditch: Ravenclaw vs. Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff wins, 170 to nil.
14 February
Harry is injured on the Quidditch pitch. Dumbledore and McGonagall are conspicuously absent from dinner. Sirius gets a new wand and becomes the Three Broomsticks' guard dog to keep an eye on Mabel Petteigrew.

Hogsmeade weekend. Ron and Draco get into a fistfight. Darren Smythe and Anharad Jones are caught singing Muggle songs in the Three Broomsticks. Caetlan O'Brien talks Hagrid into taking her with him to Diagon Alley, where he buys a new wand. Tommy Aberuwen gets a belated Valentine's Day present from Wren Tallonworth. Under the influence of the Imperius Curse cast by Judith Rache, Winston Drury accuses Harry of shoving him in Potions class. Harry claims Winston is lying. Snape gives points to a Ravenclaw, Stephen Cook. Ron and Hermione talk to each other about their plans for the future.

Padraig Walsh burns himself in Potions class.
12 March
Harry tells Caetlan O'Brien that Sirius is innocent and that Peter is alive. Wren Tallonworth voices a desire to leave the wizarding world.
17 March
Snape breaks off his engagement to Sinistra. Ravenclaw receives 7 Nimbus 2001 brooms for the House team as a gift from Mikhail Romachenko's grandfather.
23 March
Quidditch: Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff. Gryffindor wins, 150 to 20. Snape referees the match on a brand new Nimbus 3000 and no one got injured. Harry and Cho share a kiss after the match. Before the match, Tristan Talbot finds out that Snape and Sinistra broke their engagement. Alexander Gallant gets permission from Snape to go attend his grandmother's funeral.
28 March
Ginny tells Harry how she feels about him and kisses him. Later, she is cheered up by Fred, George, and Caetlan O'Brien. The twins begin plotting their last great prank as students, pinatas of Snape.

Hagrid gets his first lesson from Dumbledore.

Joshua Shiris has his first serious run-in with Draco.

Under the influence of the Imperius Curse cast by Judith Rache, Ron causes Harry's book to hit him in the head and thus cause people to think Harry did it deliberately.

Ron starts getting suspicious of Draco and Hermione.

Ron and Draco have their first confrontation over Hermione. Under the influence of the Imperius Curse cast by Judith Rache, Ron enchants a quaffle during an informal Gryffindor Quidditch practice, thus making it look like Harry threw it too hard at Ginny.

Darren Smythe reveals to Wendy Decenso that he would do anything for her and would be willing to be alone if she broke up with him.
7 April
Darren Smythe makes a stand to find out if Wendy Decenso still loved him.

Wren Tallonworth and her two friends decide what they want to do when they grow up.

Snape pays a visit to Judith Rache, and they discuss Draco's promise and Darren Smythe's lack thereof. Judith Rache gives charms to Meegan and Ruby Kendall.

Draco starts the rumors flying about Hagrid again. He also buys questionable Dark Arts ingredients and bribes Judith Rache to keep it quiet.

Cho put under the Imperius Curse by Judith Rache. Xavier tells Judith that Snape and Sinistra's wedding is on again. Judith decides to try and get an invitation to the reception from Sinistra.

Fred and Angelina reveal their feelings for one another. Theresa Postlethwaite meets Leontes Tippens for the first time, and he asks her out to dinner.
19 April
Fred and Angelina share their first kiss.
20 April
Judith Rache unknowingly meets Sirius. She also gives Darren Smythe a charm.
21 April
Sarah Kannings goes to Hogsmeade for the first time and meets Harry, Jessica Kandis, and (unwittingly) Sirius. Ruby Kendall organizes a wizard croquet game, which the team of Stephen Cook and Anna Lockwood tie for a win with Dumbledore. At the game, Harry starts to get an inkling of what's going on about the accusations surrounding him. Under the Imperius Curse cast by Judith Rache, Cho makes it look like Harry deliberately hits her with his croquet mallet; Winston Drury causes Harry's croquet ball to explode next to the likewise-controlled Meegan. Later, Dumbledore helps Harry refine his thoughts on the matter.

Darren Smythe is injured, but was responsible for the smoke diversion and charmed bludger in the first place. Gryffindor clinches the Quidditch Cup. Leontes Tippens admits for the first time he hopes to marry Theresa Postlethwaite.
12 May
Robin and Ron make a bet regarding the outcome of the League Cup championship.
15 May
Richard Cleghern refuses to pay blackmail money. Judith Rache sends proof of his involvement in the Alderly Edge incident to the Ministry of Magic.
16 May
Harry gets vindication for the idea that Celeste Collingwood is out to get him after she makes a series of comments against him in class.
17 May
Joseph Costas gets kicked out of class by Celeste Collingwood. Cormac Macmorna gets cursed by Ron after mouthing off about Ginny. Brian Taris is injured in Quidditch practice and Cormac is brought up from the reserves. Judith Rache holds a Career Seminar at Hogwarts on her trade.
18 May
The Apocalypse. Just kidding. ;) Snape and Sinistra get married. Harry figures out that Cho is under the Imperius Curse after she steals his wand and takes it to Judith Rache. Sirius and Lupin crash the wedding. Celeste Collingwood is killed by Judith, while Cho is forced to watch. Harry, Ron, and Hermione find out who was behind the plot. Snape captures Judith, with an assist from Sirius. Dumbledore explains to the faculty and then to the school what was going on. Fudge, Mabel Pettigrew, Lindsay Connolly, and Theresa Postlethwaite all find out that Peter is alive and an animagus. Fudge grants Sirius a fair trial after being pressured by Dumbledore. Theresa finds out about the trial and that Collingwood was murdered.

Hermione tries to help Ron out after Celeste Collingwood's murder.

Ron gets a little insurance for his bet with Robin Wheeler.

Dumbledore tells the assembled faculty what happened when Peter framed Sirius. Information about several people is released to the Ministry of Magic, including Calvin Waters and Claudia McAllister-Schneider's alleged Dark involvement. Lucius gets a packet citing some of his and Draco's misdeeds.

Quidditch: Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin. Slytherin wins, 150 to 10. Draco misses the match because Lucius demanded a parent/student talk. Darren Smythe plays for Slytherin as Seeker.

Hermione holds the first Muggle-born group meeting. Theresa Postlethwaite gets a new assistant in the form of Jilly.
15/16 June
Darren Smythe decides on an engagement ring for Wendy Decenso, purchases the ring.
18 June
Dominic Artek is punished by Snape after his bag of trick explosive wands is given by random Slytherins to Snape as a wedding present.
20 June
Ron finally speaks his mind to Trelawney. Caetlan O'Brien decides to give up being Keeper and try out for Chaser next fall. Ginny agrees to try out for Chaser too. Ron invites Caetlan to come practice with the Weasleys over summer.
27 June
Fred and George's last party at school, featuring a Snape-shaped pinata. Caetlan O'Brien absents herself from the party and plays lookout because the pinata reminded her too much of Celeste Collingwood's body last month.
28 June
Leaving Feast. Slytherin wins the House Cup. Gryffindor formally acknowledged winner of the Quidditch Cup. Dumbledore reveals Percifal's resignation to the student body and then gets extremely displeased with the poor behavior on the part of a number of students at the feast.

Draco begins his Dark Arts tutoring with Burkes.
6 July
Darren Smythe admits to planning to propose to Wendy Decenso, and tells Wren Tallonworth that he wants to be an Auror.

Harry, Hermione and Ron testify as witnesses in the trial of Sirius at the Ministry of Magic, presided over by Judge Portia Rolle. Sirius is cleared of all murder charges.

Wren Tallonworth sends the Firebolt she won in a Quality Quidditch Supplies raffle to Sprout, with a letter stating that she is donating the broom to the Hufflepuff quidditch team for use by the seeker during practice and games.
23 August
England defeats Bulgaria 410-150 to win the European Quidditch Cup.
1 September
Students return to school on Hogwarts Express. Dominic Artek attacks Hunter Grimshaw on the train and is put into seclusion for the remainder of the trip by the prefects, Head Boy and Head Girl. The Sorting Ceremony occurs. Sprout catches Lark Macaire, Joseph Costas and Christy Kendall out of their dorms after hours and takes points from each of them.

Snape changes Draco from Slytherin seeker to keeper.
3 September
Rumors that Dumbledore has decided against holding a Yule Ball this year spread through the school. Ruby Kendall decides to try organize an independant party for students at an off-campus location.

Neville and Caetlan O'Brien kiss for the first time.

Snape gives Bridget Eldridge an extremely limited pass to the Restricted Section and agrees to oversee an individual potions study project.

Harry demonstrates his parseltongue abilities in public again during Herbology class. Ron and Hermione come to an understanding about the current state of their relationship.

Tryouts for house Quidditch teams take place. Tommy Aberuwen falls off his broom during his trial, jeopardizing his place on the Slytherin team. Wren Tallonworth and Jarrett Macgreggor go on their first date.

Lucius spikes Portia's beverage to get her drunk, and has a booster charm placed upon her so that he can control her via the Imperius curse from afar in the future.

Dumbledore meets with the Hogwarts faculty to discuss contingency plans should there be any Dementor attacks upon Hogwarts or Hogsmeade when the students arrive. Several professors notice that the Headmaster is looking unwell. Draco tells parents Lucius and Narcissa of his plans to move out of Malfoy Manor after graduation and seek a career in Wizard Law.

Students witness a Dementor attack on Platform 9 3/4th as the Hogwarts Express pulls out of the station. Upon arrival at Hogwarts, incoming first years and Durmstrang second year transfer student Aidan Wulfric are sorted into houses. New DADA professor Gaspar Kelemen is introduced. After making his announcements, Dumbledore collapses and is pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Snape sits vigil over the Headmaster's body while other professors console the student body. McGonagall steps in as acting Headmistress.

Ruby Kendall acknowledges that she and Draco are dating once more.

Alexander Gallant gives Cory Gobern a plan to get out of the Slytherin 'dog house'.
10 September
A memorial service for Dumbledore is held at Hogwarts, and the "Headmaster's Oak" is planted by the Heads of Houses and Hagrid. Matthew Darray meets with Lucius and agrees to act as his spy at the school.

McGonagall gives Persephone Egarton permission to use the Hogwarts Library for research new spells for her company, Athena, Inc.

Vector speculates that Rebecca Astin's 'omens' are the manefestation of an unconscious Arithmantic aptitude.

Voldemort and a company of Death Eaters invade Hogwarts (with the secret aid of Sinistra) and establish an inpenetrable, silvery bubble-like barrier around the school, isolating it from the outer world. Invading forces occupy the lower levels of Hogwarts, forcing Hufflepuff & Slytherin students to temporarily share quarters with Gryffindor & Ravenclaw students. DADA professor Gaspar Kelemen goes missing during the initial attack. Trolls, runespoors, bats and lethifolds accompany the Death Eaters and begin roaming the encapsulated castle and grounds.
16 September
At Hermione's request, Hagrid brings her some of Professor Kelemen's DADA class notes.
17 September
Lucius meets with Peter outside the barrier surrounding Hogwarts, ostensibly to negotiate with the Death Eaters on the Ministry's behalf. Secretly, he receives briefing for his part in Voldemort's plan.
19 September
With encouragement from Snape, the 'SlyClaws' start plotting traps and inventive weapons to use against the Death Eater invaders. Adam Iseman, Sebastian Manx and Viviane Wilding overpower and stupefy a lone Death Eater, notifying Snape of the capture. Snape awards Gryffindor 100 points for this act and performs an intial interrogation of the captive.
22 September
Death Eaters outside of the barrier around Hogwarts (led by Peter) clash for the first time with Ministry officials, family members of Hogwarts students, and residents of Hogsmeade. Percy's patronus is revealed to be a 'very large' wombat. Within the school, Harry uses his invisibility cloak to overhear Draco suggest to Snape that Harry should act as bait in order to get an upper hand over Voldemort. A boggart reveals the deepest fears of Eryllt Thulle, Gregory, Malcolm Baddock, Pansy, Rebecca Astin and Vincent. Later, Draco demonstrates some of the 'extracurricular' Dark Arts spells he's been learning on the sly when he puts Vincent under a lesser binding spell to keep him from babbling family secrets.

Sprout proposes the idea of organic attacks against the barrier surrounding Hogwarts to McGonagall.
24 September
A group of students and Sprout plant a new Whomping Willow by the barrier, and test various organic compounds on the silvery surface to see if something might eat through it. Both attempts are unsuccessful at breaching the barrier.
26 September
Head Girl Hermione teaches a DADA class to first years, filling in for missing professor Kelemen.
27 September
Sinistra sends a group of students on a patrol of 5th floor classrooms, and into a Death Eater ambush. In the crossfire, Natalie Sedwick is hit by a killing curse and dies.
29 September
A second clash outside of Hogsmeade by the Hogwarts barrier is victorious for Ministry officials, Hogsmeade residents and student relatives. Under influence of Lucius' Imperius curse, Portia makes a fool of herself during the battle. Peter escapes during the aftermath. Astra Rathe's father is killed in the battle.
30 September
Searching for a breach in the barrier surrounding the school, students use gillyweed to search the lake for a way out. They are unsuccessful. McGonagall begins to issue passes to the library restricted section to upperclassmen so they can research ways to remove/get past the barrier.
3 October
The 'SlyClaws' begin setting booby traps in the main staircase and foyer for Death Eaters, while the 'GryffPuffs' empty the Armor Room of its displays of magical armor & weapondry. Sinistra kills the captured Death Eater before Snape can complete the interrogation using Veritaserum. Snape discovers the death and denounces Sinistra as a Death Eater herself in front of students and faculty. When Sinistra tries to attack him, Snape kills her.
7 October
Bridget Eldridge and Ruby Kendall quarrel in the Restricted Section, and accidentally discover a secret passage. Harry, Hermione, Matthew and Helena join them in exploring it, finding a large hidden maze within. Harry and Hermione tell McGonagall about the discovery.
9 October
Ron joins the party intending to further explore the maze, but Snape's presence in the Restricted Section foils plans to slip through the secret entrance. Ruby Kendall gives Draco the Gryffindor Tower password and tells him about the hidden labyrinth.
11 October
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Bridget Eldridge, Matthew Darray, Ruby Kendall and Helena de la Pinna explore the maze again, finding a hidden armory full of weapons and magical devices. Tommy Aberuwen's challenging of prefect Alexander Gallant's authority earns him a conference with Snape and Sprout. Tommy is confined to the Ravenclaw dorm until the end of the siege by Snape.
12 October
On orders from Tommy Aberuwen, Muffy the house elf removes all of the clothing not under lock & key from the 7th year Slytherin & Ravenclaw boys' dorm room.
13 October
When Snape takes Tommy Aberuwen and Aurora Munroe to task for hexing Vincent, the students attack the professor. Snape confiscates their wands and warns them about being found in a dorm room together.
15 October
Sprout and various students plant a hybrid burrowing oak intended to bore through the barrier with its roots. The attempt to breach the barrier is unsuccessful. Draco sneaks off from the group and meets with a Death Eater, telling the passwords to Ravenclaw and Gryffindor Tower, as well as information about the hidden labyrinth. He offers to help out the invaders in the future, if needed.
17 October
Students and professors clash with Death Eaters and Voldemort makes an appearance. Several students are attacked with Cruciatus curses, and Meredydd Gwyther and Buckley die from killing curses. Sprout, Trelawney and Tristan Talbot lead a team of students to infiltrate the school's lower levels and retake the Hufflepuff dormitories and kitchen area. The area is magically sealed to ward off Death Eater reprisals.
19 October
Slytherin and Ravenclaw students brew shrinking and swelling solutions and make plans to fill hollow Christmas ornaments with the liquids, in order to use them as grenades in future clashes with the Death Eater invaders.
20 October
Harry, Ron, Hermione and McGonagall explore the areas beyond the maze more fully, discovering the chamber containing the Root of Hogwarts' magic.
23 October
Minister of Magic candidates Fudge, Lucius, Portia Rolle and Madog Fychan participate in a WWN debate moderated by Latmer Holmes. Also on the WWN, Lee interviews candidate wife Narcissa.
24 October
Maria Frewelley arrives in Hogsmeade to replace Maggie (who is away on indefinite holiday in Spain) as local physician and continue Samina Rajan's apprenticing in the medical trade.
25 October
The Final Battle. Voldemort secretly follows a group of students and faculty through the maze to the Root chamber and attempts to take drain the magical power from the school and its occupants, while the rest of the student body holds off the Death Eaters from rendezvous-ing with the Dark Lord. During the battle, Helena de la Pinna is accidentally crushed to death and Muggle Studies professor Banning is crucio'd past recovery. Hermione uses a spell to combine the power of the students and professors present, and this energy as well as that of the Hogwarts Root is channelled through Harry into Voldemort, destroying him. The barrier surrounding Hogwarts falls, students are reunited with their families, and Ministry officials arrest surviving Death Eaters found in the school. The Dark Mark vanishes from all the arms of previously-marked Death Eaters.
26 October
Hogwarts students are sent home for a fortnight while damage to the school is repaired and Ministry officials clear remaining Dark creatures from the school. Several professors resign their teaching positions. McGonagall asks Lupin to temporarily step in as DADA professor again until the end of Fall semester. Harry travels to Godric's Hollow with Sirius to see where his first defeat of Voldemort took place.

Matthew Darray reports on the events of the Hogwarts siege to Lucius, and formally binds himself to the Minister-elect's service.

The Daily Prophet reports that the vacated spots on the Hogwarts Board of Governors have been filled by new board members. McGonagall introduces new faculty members Pan, Viridian Vindictus, Elizabeth Moor and Weasley. Hagrid is named new Head of House for Gryffindor.

Hogwarts quidditch trials are held to fill teams for the shortened Spring 1998 season. McGonagall orders Tommy Aberuwen to receive anger counselling from Bdella Ramananda on account of his temper outbursts. Teagan Garvey tells Sprout about how the Mirror of Erised was rediscovered by students during the Siege. Sprout takes action to have the Mirror moved to a secret place where it can't be found again.

Ruby tells Draco this news, and plans are made to contact the Headmistress about the matter.

The Scottish National Quidditch Team (featuring Harry as seeker) is defeated by Bulgaria (featuring Viktor as their returning seeker) in the QWC quarter-finals 160-40. Scotland had previously beaten Iceland, Pakistan and Australia before their defeat.

American muggle-born wizard Piggot attempts to turn the Quidditch World Cup into a bloodbath by spraying the campground with a fog intended to make people kill the first person they see. However, something goes wrong with the fog, and it instead makes people fall in love instead. Mayhem and mis-matched couples ensue, including Harry falling for Hermione, Draco making out with Rebecca Astin, and Cho and Fleur managing to find some bemused Canadian official to marry them. The enraged and frustrated Piggot is captured and arrested after the fog effects wear off.
22 August
On the heels of Piggot's botched attack on the Quidditch World Cup, a group of drunken muggle hunters (armed with guns) somehow get through the anti-muggle charms and attack the Magical Expo in Saskatchewan. In the ensuing chaos many pavillions are burned, and Rebecca Astin is shot by one of the hunters. Suspicions arise that the attack may have been organized by a wizard, when a missing wand is found.

India defeats England (including English chaser Xavier Carbrera) 310 to 250, to win the 1998 Quidditch World Cup.

Rebecca Astin's parents throw her a surprise party at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, and Harry shows up to tell her that it's off between them.

She informs Snape that she intends to resign to run the school and will put forward his name to be Headmaster of Hogwarts. Cecily Winters agrees to a date with Harry. Molly learns about Ariadne Weldon's behavior at school, and that her Prefect badge is being revoked as a result.

Defense lessons for Harry and Ron are successfully arranged, with the payment amount advocated by Sirius.

McGonagall informs the Heads of House of the formation of Poudlard and of her intention to nominate Snape as Headmaster.

Draco confesses what's bothering him and Pansypromptly fixes it. The Malfoy marriage takes a small step in the right direction.

Reginald Schwarz agrees to be Draco's new tutor.

Hermione organizes a protest against the Percy Weasley Dedicatory Act. She, Ron, and a number of other wizards and witches are cited for violation of said act when she destroys a number of color-designation markers.

Harry decides the goatee should go! The world heaves a collective sigh of relief.

Harry and Ron learn that Hermione has been sacked.

Parvati becomes a Maid of Honor for Percy and Penelope's wedding. The first Debutante event occurs in the Malfoy Manor gardens.

The 2000 Hogwarts Sorting is done through use of Legilimens, while the first Poudlard Sorting in France utilizes the Sorting Hat. Sargas Schwarz and Basil Covington are put in charge of spreading the word about a project that will earn Slytherins points. August Fringe gets owl dropping duty.

After the House meeting, Fallon Gudansky learns that maybe possibly Rachel likes Dennis, providing of course that Dennis is willing to admit that he likes her first. Fallon pledges to find out.

Ariadne Weldon and Michael Astin talk to Sirius about a pre-Quidditch trial house scrimmage.

Kerwin Quashberry tries to help Gilbert Pinkerton work out his issues with kissing and other things. Gryffindor is awarded 20 house points in Potions. Rowland Bronst starts to pursue Fawna Prowse.

Snape fulfills his Bachelor Auction obligations. Amie Ostroff gets her Prefect badge.
20 September
Molly learns Ariadne Weldon is still having some problems at school, and decides to contact Sirius to get more details. Thaddeus Illingsworth gets his Prefect badge.

The 4th Year Girls at Poudlard draw up tent rules. Sirius comes to talk to Molly about Ariadne Weldon.
24 September
Trelawney makes a prediction at lunchtime in Poudlard.
26 September
Jenny Drummond begins to worry about Ariadne Weldon's self control.
27 September
Having spoken to Arthur after talking with Sirius, and having received a letter from Ariadne Weldon, Molly meets with McGonagall to discuss the possibility of Ariadne transferring to Poudlard. McGonagall agrees to consult the governors on the issue.
28 September
Having received approval by the governors, Molly goes to Hogwarts to collect Ariadne Weldon and bring her to Poudlard.
29 September
Molly informs Ariadne Weldon she expects her to behave at Poudlard, or there will be no further chances.

Gilbert Pinkerton and Viviane Wilding go for a walk. She mentions cuddling Elijah Wolfe. Gilbert freaks, and they end up broken up.

Gryffindor's Quidditch roster and new Captain are announced.

Harry agrees to help Ginny sneak in to see Sirius.

Snape tricks? lets? Sirius invite all his friends to the Halloween Feast. Jenny Drummond and Malcolm Baddock agree to investigate Selina Piroski and Thaddeus Illingsworth's behavior.

Harry and Ginny use the invisibility cloak to visit Sirius. Harry lends the Marauder's Map to Sirius. Ginny finally learns about it, and is miffed her brothers didn't give it to someone in the family.
28 October
The younger Weasley siblings throw a Halloween party in the Burrow while their parents are off in Brittany. Harry and Cecily Winters attempt to consummate their relationship. Harry's anatomy does not cooperate.
3 November
Nelson Grayson asks Ariadne Weldon if she would like to attend the bonfire as his date. She says yes.

Elijah Wolfe asks Viviane Wilding out. She accepts.

Lucas Snowden, aka Lucas Lovewell, teaches his first Fine Arts class at Poudlard. They discuss his latest novel, "The Minister's Menage."

Fawna Prowse learns that Selina Piroski's been beating up on first years and decides to report it. Fawna and Malcolm Baddock compare notes on Selina's behavior, and decide to bring it to the attention of Professor Snape.

Joshua Baker confronts Fawna Prowse for the first time after their original encounter.

Ginny encounters several students when going to see Sirius at Hogwarts.
29 November
Fawna Prowse and Valentine Selkirk have a second charms lesson.

Tabitha Rosewood threatens to quit the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

Head Girl Jenny Drummond separates August Fringe and Valentine Selkirk on the quidditch pitch. Draco, disguised as Theodore Sherman with the help of polyjuice, makes some hints about wanting to do something about the Minister and the new laws, and inquires as to whether Harry would be willing to help. To give Draco time to practice his Theodore guise, Thisbe Applegate summons the real Theodore to look at her supposedly sprained ankle. Some mild flirting ensues.
13 December
Thisbe Applegate stomps on a beefy fellow's foot at an Arrows-Cannons game to provoke his ire, then lies about the reason he's yelling at her. Theodore Sherman gets in a minor shouting match with him in the stands. Thisbe's attempts at behaving realistically curtail the shouting before it can attract too much attention.
